The Standard chair by the French designer Jean Prouvé for Vitra has evolved into one of the most iconic designs in his portfolio. The seat and backrest are available in various types of wood, and the metal frame comes in different colours. Prouve was aware that chairs take the most stress on their back legs, where they bear the weight of the user's upper body. With this knowledge the engineer and designer Jean Prouvé illustrated this simple insight in his distinctive design for the Standard chair: while steel tubing suffices for the front legs, since they bear a relatively light load, the back legs are made of voluminous hollow sections that transfer the primary stress to the floor.

    We are an independent, family run business, handling all orders locally from our Oslo store, Norway. Once you order, you will receive an email from us, letting you know about the shipping and delivery time.


    Shipping

    Free shipping in Norway on all orders above 1000 kr, except on heavier goods, like sofas, lounge chairs, dining tables, larger shelves, rugs and sofa tables. If in doubt, please ask us.
    The shipping cost is calculated at checkout. You can always choose to collect in our Oslo store or warehouse outside Oslo for larger items, for free. For home deliveries on larger items, please contact the store.

    Standard handling time for all items in stock is 1-3 days, in addition to the postal service's delivery time. 

    Most of our furniture is not kept in stock and are subject to a certain delivery time stated in the product description.

    Returns and Non-Refundable Products

    We have a standard 14 days return policy, except on custom-made and made to order furniture, lighting and rugs. Please ask if in doubt.
